Welcome to Surfside Collies!
We decided on Surfside as our kennel name, because both Marty and I love the beach! We are both originally from Florida, so it just seemed to fit us.
I have owned, trained and loved dogs all my life. The first time I ever saw a Smooth Collie....I fell in love! I have owned and trained collies for the past 15 years or so. I have had the privilege of having some wonderful, knowledgeable people surrounding me as I muddle through the world of dogs. To these breeders, mentors and friends, I am grateful beyond words. They continue to be a great source of information and help when I need it. I still love learning all I can from them!
My first collie was a rough collie. Pictured above, Bo-Dandy's Sparkling Melody. Melly was the best girl ever. She was a therapy dog and knew tons of tricks. She left us too soon, and I still miss my puppy girl terribly. Then, came Flash! He is AWESOME!!
I am a firm believer that any dog that I plan to breed should have titles at BOTH ends of its name. We currently competing in conformation, obedience, and agility. Where breeding is concerned, I breed RARELY. I breed for quality, not quantity. Our dogs are not kenneled. They live, eat, play, travel and sleep with us.
